Brown Lives To Fight Another Day But Is Mandelson Now The Real Premier?

PETER Mandelson is now the country’s Prime Minister in all but name, according to Prospective Independent MP for Wirral West David Kirwan.

Mr Kirwan says the dramatic events of recent days have ensured that Gordon Brown can “barely move” without the blessing of his one time arch enemy.

Brown’s Cabinet reshuffle on Friday saw Mandelson elevated to First Secretary of State – effectively becoming Deputy PM. As Business Secretary, he now also has a staggering ten Ministers serving under him.

David Kirwan said today: “Gordon Brown may have survived to fight another day, but the true General is now Lord Mandelson.

“I am sure I am not the only person who finds it quite extraordinary that these one-time sworn enemies can now have formed such a close bond.

“This has very little to do with wanting to provide the people of this country with the best possible Government, but everything to do with preserving their own grip on power and the many perks that come with it.

“The British electorate are not fools. This pact of convenience may stagger on for a few more months, but the voters will still ensure they are booted out of office when they are finally given the chance to deliver their verdict.”

  1. The fact that Peter Mandelson is now effectively the second unelected politician to lead this country in recent years shows how little Labour have learnt from recent events. The public is outraged by the corrupt practises of politicians and Labour’s answer to this is to let Mandelson, who has had to resign from office twice, dictate their policies!
