Kirwan attacks “rations” Duncan
TORY Shadow Leader of the House of Commons Alan Duncan has reignited the row over MPs’ expenses by claiming they are now living on “rations”.
David Kirwan, Prospective Independent MP for Wirral West, said Mr Duncan’s remarks confirmed that most MPs from the traditional parties have no desire to change their ways.
Mr Kirwan said: “Having tasted the good life at our expense for so long, it’s almost impossible for MPs’ to break their habit.
“Expecting MPs to change their spots is like asking criminals not to reoffend after breaking the law. They become addicted.
“Only a clean sweep of Parliament and the election of genuinely independent candidates can restore voters’ trust in our battered Parliamentary system.”
